EVENT:          Department of Family Services (DFS), Family Court, CASA, The Adoption Exchange, Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada and numerous families will be on hand to celebrate the County’s 10th annual Adoption Day event.  During an hour-long reception, families will enjoy breakfast, games and prizes and musical entertainment.

November is National Adoption Awareness Month. Nationally, this important month raises awareness about the thousands of children in care waiting for permanent loving families’ through adoption, as well as celebrates the families who take that step to give children a place to call home.   Each year, National Adoption Day connects thousands of children with permanent families through the help of judges, attorneys, adoption agencies, adoption professionals and child advocates.  To date, DFS in partnership with Family Court and the Children’s Attorneys Project of Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada has finalized more than 500 adoptions.
