Computers for All Students
In support of education for our youth, Our Own Voices has partnered with Christopher Marini of Network Savants, LLC to bring computers to students that could not otherwise afford them. We at Our Own Voices believe we can do this without government money or another government program. We will use a grass roots approach. We ask that everyone that has an extra or old computer less than 6 years old taking up space in a spare room or extra computer parts collecting dust in the garage to donate them to this effort. Even if the computer doesn’t work there may be parts that we can use with other parts to make a whole computer. We are also asking for volunteers to help check out & refurbish these computers, a place to store the computers/parts and a place to refurbish them. It is our goal to donate 100 computers to students and 10 computers to non-profit organizations chartered to help our youth.
Jimmy Banks of Jimmy’s Cheyenne Market (1370 West Cheyenne Avenue) has allowed us to drop off the computers at Jimmy’s Cheyenne Market on Cheyenne and Martin Luther King Blvd. Thank you Jimmy Banks!
