Reno, NV- Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded Nevada with more than $8 million in grants for highway improvements and construction. The Pyramid Highway Corridor will receive $1.1 million; a portion of US 50 in Douglas County will receive $1 million for realignment; $2.2 million will go to widen SR 160 between Las Vegas and Pahrump; $500,000 will go to improvements for the State Traffic Safety Information System and $3.3 million will go toward the Southern Nevada Beltway Airport Connector interchange project.
